There was actually another guy who deleted his comment calling people out for being elitists without anyone saying anything. And it gets me angry because people like us just want to enjoy a good challenge, how are we being an elitist for that? Xbox refuses to do the cross platform. So it won't be coming out on Xbox.

They want all their players to be able to play together be on PS 3-4 or PC. Microsoft refused to let the servers be cross compatible so you wouldnt be able to play with a PS user if you were playing on Xbox. So Square said fine youre loss xD . Forget FF14 on xbox.  microsoft doent aprove for cross platform :? It would, but Sony and Microsoft refuse to share servers. Sony gets dibs because final fantasy is primarily a playstation series, and has just recently began expanding to xbox. I don't understand what the problem is with the 2, considering they did it once with ff11. Blame Microsoft for not wanting to cross platform, it's because of them this game can't be on Xbox. Microsoft wanted exclusive servers without interaction with PC and PS.

FFXIV is much more powerful than ffxi

There has to be a lot of devoted to continue to pay for a sub that won't be putting out new content. But there is just so much content already. Played for 9 years, and still a bunch of stuff I would have to finish.  This is pretty awesome. It's too bad that the servers are shutting down in November. They aren't shutting down. They are just ceasing development.  Actually, they are shutting down service for Xbox and PS2 in March 2016 and continuing indefinitely for PC. In November the lost big story piece will be released. SE never announced they would be ending FFXI on PC. You are jumping the gun here Oskar. The game will continue, and we will still get some updates here

They'll keep charging for it- this is more like a wind-down until the servers hit a point where nobody's playing, vs. "OMG NOVEMBER IS HERE IT'S ALL OVER!". They want you to eventually swap over to FFXIV, as FFXI development becomes impossible when the last PS2 devkits (yes, all content is built on those for FFXI, even now) fall apart from lack of new parts or replacements. The game will literally die from PS2 limitations. How ironic it is.

Final Fantasy 14 customer support

Dear Final Fantasy 14 customer support, please politely vanish because your existence kills portions of my soul each time I have to deal with you. Today in events I sat waiting for 2 hours when the estimated wait time was 1 hour, so I sat patiently I like to consider myself as a patient person cheap FFXIV gil.
Finally after 2 hours of waiting for customer support I got an agent named Andrew. Now before we get into how dumb this guy is. My issue is I have the code that I used to purchase the game, I have the name on the account, and backup email for it, and I can answer a security question. Now seeing as how I have all of this wonderful material to prove my ownership of the account... it isn't enough (SHOCKER I know). Now I haven't logged into this account or this game much rather in forever. So I need to reset the password on the account as security measure which is fine, but I seem to have lost the email for the account.
So this is where the 2 hour wait for customer support begins I go through this wait and finally we are connected with Andrew FFXIV gil   . Now in no circumstance ever do I put my real birth date with my name for personal security reasons. So they need me to provide the date of birth that I put for this account and it's been a while since I logged in on that account so obviously I forgot it.Now for some reason my date of birth is like the largest verification method in the world... because he wouldn't provide me with any other information unless I gave him my date of birth that I provided for that account which was false. So I didn't know it. Here is where the bad part comes.
I provide him with all of this other information that he can use to verify the account is mine but... it doesn't mean anything for some reason unless I can provide him with the date of birth. So here is where I start getting angry. I say in quote "How is it that I can provide you with all of these means of verification and they don't mean anything. A SECURITY QUESTION IS FOR THIS EXACT PURPOSE." Apparently I hurt his feelings because soon after that message was read I get this delightful reply " Agent Andrew: Thank you for visiting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center! Take care and hope to see you online!
Agent Andrew has disconnected."
