ffxiv collectors edition game play

I bought the ffxiv collectors edition too. The physical one with the pretty dragon statue lol. If you have the steam version you can only buy the game on Steam. If you have the Square Enix PC edition cheap FFXIV Gil, you can only buy the PC version from Square. That being said, if you buy the gamnes from Square Enix, then buy the ame for Steam, you can continue to use you Square Enix version on it. (That's what I do)

I'm pretty sure you can link your new copy to your current account, just buy a copy of ARR and register it on Mog station and your characters will be there you just won't launch from Steam anymore. You can use a non steam FFXIV account to log into the Steam Version. and you can only have 1 PC game Per Service Account buy FFXIV Gil, meaning you can have 2 accounts, both steam and Square Enix, but the characters you created are only accessible on one of tose accounts.

So if I buy ARR from square, I won't be able to use my character form my steam version?  If you buy the non-steam version it wont run on your computer. It takes the core game to be able to set it up, which is in your steam. So it wont work. Just wait a little while till it comes on Steam, You can still log in to your account, you just won't be able to play it through steam, so you will either have to buy a copy of the base game or buy hw through steam. The 2 versions aren't compatible. HW is now available for purchase via steam as of last week.

You can use your account and character. The version does not affect your mogstation/SE account. You will be able to play still, just as a non-steam game.  I got my steam preorder and I believe there was more info about those who did this exact thing as well....telling them what to do where to go do it etc.
